Season finale dress code: Elegant

So dear friends. This has been a great summer. We have managed to make 10 classes and social nights! So much hard work and emotions!

join us in the elegant dress code in our last class for the summer of 2022. We are going to focus the workshop on classy steps and pivots inspired from Tango!

We invite you to our dancing Wednesdays this summer on Öland!

This summer you will have the opportunity to learn Urban Kizomba, a truly amazing modern couples dance on the sunny island of Öland. Open your mind for a new experience that just might change your life to the better!

During 9 Wednesdays, from 15 June to 10 August, you will meet Mårten Angner & Yana Mastylenko who is international teachers from Stockholm and Ukraine respectively. Together we will experience new way of moving in solo classes and practice dancing in couples. Every night ends with a social dance with carefully selected music including excusive DJ mixes. The venue is the main hall of IOGT in Borgholm a classic place for dancing during generation.

We look forward to experience a lot of music, a lot of growth, a lot of joy!

About the class

We teach progressive level. Our classes is starts with creative basic techniques and are open for beginners as well as more experienced dancers. During the presentation we increase the level gradually and in the end of the class there is a challenge for everyone! In Movem classes we help each others to discover, grow and improve as dancers! And people!

Admission & registration

The admission is 100 SEK per class and includes the solo and couples workshop as social dance and coffee and snacks. If you sign up as couple at a discounted price. Buy a full pass and get 2 classes free. To encourage car pooling we give designated drivers from other cities 1 hour or more away from Borgholm with two or more dancers from outside his or her own household is rewarded a free pass! Comfort and safety

We are looking for creating and appreciating and helpful environment for everyone. In the Movem classes there is no right or wrong, only variants! We are here to find and develop our personal style. We have zero tolerance for bullying, sexist or racist behavior.

We will take swift action is we sense disrespect of personal boundaries. We practice hand washing and maintain social distance!

Questions & answers

Can I come without a partner? 
Yes, it is possible to come as an individual leader or follower without a partner. We put a lot of effort on invite both leaders and followers to create equal couples to make everyone dance as much as possible. In the classes and social dances we rotate and change partners as often as we can to make it fun for everyone!

Can I dance only with my own partner?
Yes, it is possible to dance only with your own partner and not rotate if you are more comfortable this way. 

Should I have previous experience in dancing?
Previous experience is not required. We will start from basic steps each lesson. Every dancer has unique skills and are free to develop at their own pace and based on their own skill level! 

Should I have special dancing shoes? 
Please take with you comfortable changing clean inside shoes. And we will tell you more at the class. You do not need to special dancing shoes. Should I have special dancing clothes?
It is not a requirement. Wear something you feel comfortable moving in. Men usually wear jeans and Teeshirt and women tend to prefer leggings and a top. We have changing rooms available so a useful tip is to bring a clean set of clothing if you come from outside. Hygiene and some fragrance really helps to make you popular on the dance floor. Can I drop in?
Yes, it is possible to drop in with or without a partner. However, if you choose to get a full pass for the whole summer you will get a bunch of classes for free! Who does not wish that? ;-) 

Can I take private classes if for some reason I cannot join the main group? 
Yes, private classes are an available option for you. 

Should I bring a smile and positive emotions to the dance studio?
Yes! It is mandatory to come with a smile and positive attitude! If you are just a little bit of a bad day, we will definitely help to cheer you up! :)
